First, you have to decide what is best for you.

Not everyone likes the same thing.  Music tastes vary, DJ’s personalities are all different.  So before you shop for the best DJ, ask yourself some questions…

What do you want for your party?

When you close your eyes, what do you envision?

What type of music do you want?

Are there any songs or types of music you DON’T want to hear?

Will you allow your guests to make requests?

This one is a big one for me.  I hear many people tell me it’s their party, they want to hear their music – and I agree.  However, if your guests don’t like the music and leave, a party alone isn’t much of a party.  The best DJ is one that will respond to you AND your guests requests and pay attention to what’s getting the best dance response and adapt accordingly.  Too many DJ’s play what they want to hear or are not paying attention to the ages, ethnicity and dance response.  Not all DJ’s do what they should.  There are good and bad in every profession – mine included.

The Best DJ is the one that loves what they do – and it will show.

When everyone at the party is having fun, I’m having fun.  This is from the Make-A-Wish Walk for Wishes.  Normally, you wouldn’t expect dancers at a walk, but we had a blast.  Check out the firefighters at the end.  They were awesome!
